This is Market YOU First. Market YOU First. It's time to learn to sell what you bring to the table, not what you're selling. This is Market YOU First. This is your host, Wes Wyatt. Hey everybody, this is Wes Wyatt and this is the Market YOU First podcast. Have you ever scrolled through someone's social media or saw someone's video and thought, I could do that? Well, I used to break a cold sweat thinking about being on camera or doing a podcast like this. But here's the truth. My business exploded when I finally hit record. Not because I was great at it. Trust me, I wasn't. But there are a lot of people that finally saw me. Not just my services, okay? And that's exactly where the whole Market YOU First concept kind of kicked off. So, why does this matter? Well, in a world where everybody's fighting for attention, video isn't just another marketing tactic. It's your secret weapon for building trust. So, when people see your face and prospects see and hear your voice, they're going to witness your passion. They're going to connect with you on a human level that text simply can't match, okay? And a recent study has shown that 93% of businesses gain new customers specifically because of video content, okay? That might be a little high, but here's the thing that nobody tells you. It's not about producing production quality, all right? It's about authenticity. Those perfectly polished videos from big brands, they actually perform worse than genuine slight imperfect content from real people like you. Why? Because people buy from people that they know, like, and trust. Not from polished marketing departments. So, here are three key takeaways that are going to help you with this. Number one, start with stories, not sales. I've actually said this before. Don't begin with, hey, I'm selling XYZ product. Instead, share a 60-second story about how you help somebody solve a problem. Example would be, last week, Sarah told me she was working 60 hours and missing her kids' soccer games. We implemented this simple system, and now she's home every night for dinner. Stories are going to create emotional connections, and features can never list that, okay? Now, the next thing is, number two, create a personal video template. Save time and reduce anxiety with a simple template that has a 10-second greeting, a 60-second valuable tip, a 15-second personal insight, and maybe like a 5-second call to action. The total time for that would be 90 seconds, and this structure is going to work with any platform. It's going to make creating videos feel less overwhelming. And record three at once to build your confidence and content library. Last, but certainly not least, number three, embrace the 80-20 rule of video editing. Stop obsessing over perfection. The first 80% of results are going to come from 20% of the effort. So, use a simple tool like your phone's built-in editor to trim the beginning and the end, maybe add a text headline, you could put some light background music, and then just publish. That extra hour of tweaking fonts and transitions and all the other things, nobody's going to notice it but you. So, how do you market you first and make this personal? Your videos should feel different from everyone else's in your industry. A financial advisor I worked with stood out by filming quick tips about walking his dog each morning. A real estate agent did car confessionals where they were sharing honest thoughts about properties after showings. A dentist explained procedures using funny props and become one of the most requested people in their practice. What unique element of your personality could you showcase? Do you love cooking? Film a quick tip while making breakfast. If you have a quirky collection, use it as your background. Your uniqueness is your greatest marketing asset. Okay, so here is your call to action and it's pretty simple today. I want you to record a 60-second video on your phone sharing one helpful tip related to your expertise. Use you in it, okay? Really put the me in the market you first. Don't script it, don't overthink it, and don't re-record it more than twice. Then, post it to one of your platforms and that's it. The goal isn't perfection, it's progress. Take this simple step, build momentum, and you're going to find out that making a video is going to be a part of your regular marketing strategy. So, if you have found any of this helpful, don't forget to like, share, comment, and subscribe.
