This is Market You First. Market You First. It's time to learn to sell what you bring to the table, not what you're selling. This is Market You First. This is your host, Wes Wyatt. Hey everybody, this is Wes Wyatt and this is the Market You First podcast. Let me ask you this. Did you spend more time last month perfecting your craft or actually making money from it? Okay, now if you hesitated to answer, you might be stuck in the hobby trap. So why does this matter? Every day, talented people pour their hearts into projects that never make a dime. Not because they lack skill, but because they're running a hobby disguised as a business. So you deserve much more than just passionate late nights and empty bank accounts. All right, today I'm going to show you how to shift from hobby thinking to business thinking so that you can finally earn what you're worth. So here are three questions to transform your side hustle. Do you have clear money goals? All right, that's the first thing. A hobby makes you happy. A business makes you money and happy. Set specific monthly revenue targets and track every dollar. If you can't tell you exact earnings from last month, you're in hobby mode. Number two, are you solving real problems? All right, a hobby serves you, a business serves others. So stop asking, what do I enjoy doing? And start asking, what problems am I solving for my customers? And your market needs solutions, not just your passion. And last but not least, number three, do you have business hours? A hobby fits around your life, a business gets dedicated time, okay? Blocking out specific hours for client work, marketing, and business development, no more when I feel inspired and scheduling from there. So how do you make this you? How do you market you first and bring this into a you situation? Your transition from hobby to business starts with how you present yourself. So stop introducing yourself as someone who likes to do photography and start saying, I help families preserve their most precious moments, okay? You see the difference? You're not selling a hobby, you're selling a solution that only you can provide. And even if it's something that other people do, you need to tell people what separates you, what's your unique selling proposition, all right? Now, here's your call to action. Take out your phone right now and set three business hours for tomorrow, okay? So what I mean by that is during the time, you're going to focus only on activities that directly generate revenue. We call that IPA, income producing activities. No excuses, no distractions, okay? Now, if you've found any of this to be helpful, do me a favor, like, share, comment, and subscribe.
