Part of the Market YOU First Mentality is knowing your worth and NOT giving people discounts on it!

I recently had someone repeatedly reach out to me and a business partner wanting to connect.  My business partner spoke to them first, so I knew they weren't a BOT or someone with an ulterior motive like talking about Cryptocurrency Mining or their Billionaire Uncle that needs a contact in the U.S. to accept millions of dollars.

For the record, I'm not trying to come off as holier than thou, guilty of never having missed an appointment, or someone should feel lucky getting to talk with me.   This person repeatedly badgered me about engaging.

I messaged them the first time so they'd know I was in the room ready to go (1:50p for a 2:00p Meeting).  They responded by saying, "Sorry for the late notice, is it possible to reschedule? I’m unexpectedly running errands."  Unexpectedly?

After they'd badgered me, I was NOT happy, as I'd stayed home and hadn't done anything to meet with them.  Reluctantly - I later agreed to reschedule.  After all - life happens, right?!?

I rescheduled for the following Wednesday.  They confirm and say, "That works."  I jokingly (Not really) respond, "NO errands this time!"  To which they respond, "I’ll be home!"  Later that afternoon, I got the message, "Does Tuesday work for you? I just remembered a webinar I had told the organizer I’d be part of."  Thinking, here we go AGAIN - I went against my better judgment but agreed.

That brings us to today (A.K.A., the Tuesday THEY requested).  I'm sitting and waiting from 1:50 to 2:05p - twiddling my thumbs!  I messaged them and said, "OK, name - I tried!  You CLEARLY don't respect my time and/or want to engage.  Have a DYNAMITE day!"  They respond, "I apologize.  I lost track of time."

Sorry, but there are FAR too many things available to us these days to forget an appointment.  It's simply UNACCEPTABLE!

So if you're doing this - STOP IT!  Instead - adopt the attitude, "Unless you're early - you're LATE!"  Even more importantly - put VALUE on your time and stop discounting it!
